Burlwood Cabinet with Burnished Brass Fittings
Veneered in Cluster Elm Burr Wood with split circular recessed brass handles to the top of the doors and the bottom of the drawwrs. A brass angle runs down the front corners and the cabinet is hand polished.
Burr or Burl wood is very hard to work with hand tools or on a lathe because its grain is twisted and interlocked, causing it to chip and shatter unpredictably. This “wild grain” makes burl wood extremely dense and resistant to splitting.
